  Modern Paving’s owner, Sam, came to look at my recently paved driveways that were denting, cracking, crumbling, and had weeds growing thru them. He took my call at the end of his day while driving thru DD and listened to my story and agreed to advise me. I met him on a beautiful Sunday afternoon when I’m sure he had better things to do. Instead of telling me I had to rip them up and start over as soon as possible as two other paving contractors had recommended, he advised me to wait four months thru the summer and let them settle before he would come heat them up, lay more asphalt in the problem areas and then roll them out again to level and then heavily seal coat them. I really appreciated his calm appraisal that they were not that bad and he could repair them without ripping them up. I look forward to hiring them in the fall. Thanks Sam!

  We recently purchased a new home with an extremely long driveway (800 feet!). I reached out to Sam and he came over right away to take a look. We really liked his plan, he explained every step from the removal, to the compacted gravel base, to the layout and design of the driveway and parking areas. The driveway has a large drain grate that was surrounded by large broken concrete, the old asphalt was cracked everywhere, bulging up in mounds and in many places it had deep sink holes filled with old gravel. Sam and crew showed up in the morning, met with us to review the details and got to work tearing everything up. They brought out truck after truck of old driveway and brought in in truck after truck of gravel and piping hot asphalt! They worked the edges with great detail, and operated large equipment compacting gravel applying asphalt and tamping and smoothing it to an amazing finish. By the end of the project we had everything we could ever have dreamed of. Our nightmare driveway is now a wonderful private drive!!! The big crew was extremely polite and very hard working, they even brought in groceries for my wife!! The equipment was clean, and everything they did showed great pride in the work! We had fun watching them work with our small children, and we are very happy customers!!
